Dimensional Inspection & Metrology
Every casting and machined component is dimensionally verified against drawing before it leaves our facility β inside a dust-free, 20Β°C constant-temperature metrology lab. CNC CMM, optical vision measuring system, and complete GD&T inspection reports are included with every order.

Metrology Lab
Dust-free, constant-temperature CMM room β CNC20158 Coordinate Measuring Machine | Renyi Castings, Ningbo
“No part leaves our facility without dimensional sign-off inside this lab. Not a gauge station on the shop floor β a purpose-built, ISO 1-compliant environment where every measurement is traceable, repeatable, and audit-ready.”
Our metrology lab is maintained at a constant 20Β°C (Β±0.1Β°C), with humidity held at β€55% RH throughout. These controlled conditions eliminate the two most common sources of CMM measurement error: thermal expansion of metal parts, and particulate contamination of probe tips and optical sensors.
All dimensional work β first article inspection, production lot sampling, and customer witness inspection β takes place exclusively in this lab. It is a permanent, dedicated facility built for precision measurement, not a corner of the production floor pressed into service.

When OEM customers conduct supplier quality audits, the metrology lab is always on the checklist. Here is what our climate-controlled, dust-free environment means for the accuracy and reliability of your inspection data.
Metal expands with temperature. A 1Β°C deviation in an aluminum part introduces ~5 Β΅m of error per 200 mm of length β enough to reject a tight GD&T callout.
At 20Β°C (ISO 1 standard reference temperature), all measurements are internationally traceable and repeatable across labs worldwide.
Dust particles on precision surfaces or probe tips cause false readings. Our clean-room standard eliminates this contamination risk.
OEM and tier-1 customers audit supplier metrology labs as part of approved supplier qualification. A dedicated, climate-controlled lab demonstrates the quality investment serious buyers require.
Variance held within Β±0.1Β°C β eliminating thermal expansion error
Prevents condensation on optics and air bearing surfaces
Clean-room standard protects sensitive probe tips and optical sensors
Why 20Β°C? Β ISO 1:2016 defines 20Β°C as the standard reference temperature for geometrical product specifications. All gauge blocks, reference standards, and calibrated instruments are certified at this temperature. Measuring at any other temperature introduces systematic error from thermal expansion β which for aluminum (CTE ~23 Β΅m/mΒ·Β°C) can be significant even with a few degrees of deviation.
Our metrology lab handles the complete spectrum of dimensional verification β from standard linear tolerances to complex GD&T callouts, surface roughness measurement, thread gauging, and bore roundness.
Length, width, height, bore diameters, wall thickness, step heights, and all critical dimensions per drawing with tolerance verification.
Full geometric dimensioning and tolerancing β positional tolerances, profile of a surface, circular runout, total runout, and concentricity.
Go/no-go thread gauging for internal and external threads. Major diameter, pitch diameter, and thread depth verification.
Surface roughness measurement using a profilometer β Ra, Rz, and Rt values documented against customer specifications.
Precision bore measurement including diameter, roundness (circularity), cylindricity, and taper β critical for bearing seats and sealing surfaces.
Surface flatness, parallelism between datum surfaces, perpendicularity, and angularity β essential for mating and assembly interfaces.
From drawing review to final report β our structured inspection workflow ensures every critical dimension is verified, documented, and traceable.
